Jaipur, April 01— The Congress-led Rajasthan government on Thursday launched a health insurance scheme worth Rs 5 lakh for all people of the state irrespective of their economic status.
“Registrations for Rajasthan Govt’s cashless treatment for all – Mukhyamantri Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojana have begun in the state from today. It is one of our biggest health care schemes aimed at providing medical relief to all residents of #Rajasthan,” tweeted Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot Thursday morning.
The cashless health insurance scheme will cover each family in the state.
“#Rajasthan has become the first state in the country, where each family will get a health insurance of Rs. 5 lakh each year. People can get registered and be assured of cashless treatment,” said the CM.
The scheme, under which each family of the state will get an annual health insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh, was announced by Gehlot in the state budget 2021-22 in February this year.
Registration to avail the benefit started on April 1 and will continue till April 30. The beneficiaries will start getting benefit from May 1, 2021.
