Aligarh, December 23— The Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College & Hospital of Aligarh Muslim University has so far tested 2 lakh Covid-19 samples, said Vice Chancellor of the central university Prof. Tariq Mansoor.
In collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and Bharat Biotech, the medical college is also conducting trials for Covid-19 vaccine, said the VC.
“Aligarh Muslim University tested 2 lakh COVID samples, treating complicated COVID cases from adjoining West UP districts, collaborating with ICMR/Bharat Biotech for developing COVAXIN and actively spreading public awareness on COVID,” said the VC in a tweet and tagged the Prime Minister’s Office and Union Education Ministry.

In another tweet, the VC Prof. Mansoor said: “Aligarh Muslim University in collaboration with ICMR & Bharat Biotech successfully conducted phase 3 trials for #COVAXIN. In fact, AMU was one of the earliest trial centre in phase-3 to complete enrolment of 1st 1000 volunteers.”
