New Delhi, December 1— Perfume baron and Lok Sabha MP Maulana Badruddin Ajmal has distributed around 70,000 blankets among needy people in Assam, West Bengal and Bihar as winter weather is covering the entire north India.
Three-time sitting MP from Dhubri in Assam, Ajmal got the blankets distributed through his Ajmal Foundation.
“Blanket Distribution by Ajmal Foundation among the needy. Like every year, this winter too we have been carrying out blanket distribution drive and have already distributed around 70000 blankets across Assam and few districts of Bihar & West Bengal,” tweeted Ajmal, supremo of AIUDF (All India United Democratic Front).
His Ajmal Foundation carries various humanitarian activities throughout the year.
Last month, it distributed around Rs 50 lakh among needy people from different walks of life including private school teachers, widows and differently abled persons in Assam.
The foundation gave Rs 20,000 each to 75 teachers. Ten of them who are elderly and very poor will also be provided a new house each worth Rs 2 lakh as they are retiring and don’t have their own home. Besides, 25 widows were given Rs 36,000 each and Rs 24,000 each was given to 20 differently abled persons.
